Norwegian greetings and introductions
This first lesson gives you a complete first conversation in Norwegian: greeting someone, saying your name, asking theirs, asking how they are and where they come from, and saying goodbye. Every line is a full sentence you can use the same day.
What you will learn
- Hei! Jeg heter Lars — Hi! My name is Lars
- Hva heter du? — What is your name?
- Hyggelig å møte deg — Nice to meet you
- Hvordan går det? — How are you?
- Bra, takk! Og du? — Fine, thanks! And you?
- Hvor kommer du fra? — Where are you from?
- Jeg kommer fra Italia — I come from Italy
- Vi ses! — See you!
Practice questions

- A good answer to Hvordan går det? Options: Bra, takk! Og du?, Jeg heter Lars, Vi ses!

- Vi ses! means… Options: Welcome!, See you!, We are here!
How the lesson works
Start with the flashcards: each card shows one item with a picture cue and a short tip. Then you listen and tap the right picture, match words to meanings, say each one out loud, build the sentence from word tiles, and listen and type what you hear. Finish with the quiz: a wrong answer costs a heart, and at the end you can practise your mistakes or restart the lesson. Completing the lesson earns XP and keeps your daily streak alive.
Why it matters
The first minute of a conversation decides whether it continues in Norwegian. With these eight lines you can introduce yourself to a neighbour, a colleague or a classmate; swap in your own name and country and you are ready.
