🇳🇴 Norwegian A1: Daglig rutine (Lesson 10)

Norwegian daily routine in eight sentences

This A1 lesson teaches you to describe an ordinary day in Norwegian, from Jeg våkner to Jeg legger meg. Every sentence uses the present tense, which in Norwegian is simply the verb + -r and is the same for every person: jeg dusjer, du dusjer, vi dusjer.

What you will learn

  • Jeg våkner — I wake up
  • Jeg står opp klokka sju — I get up at seven — stå opp is get up, not wake up
  • Jeg dusjer — I take a shower
  • Jeg spiser frokost — I eat breakfast
  • Jeg tar bussen til jobben — I take the bus to work
  • Jeg kommer hjem klokka fire — I come home at four
  • Jeg lager middag — I make dinner
  • Jeg legger meg klokka elleve — I go to bed at eleven

Practice questions

  1. Stå opp means… Options: to wake up, to get up, to stand still.
  2. How do you say I go to bed? Options: Jeg legger meg, Jeg sover meg, Jeg går seng.
  3. Jeg lager middag means… Options: I eat lunch, I order dinner, I make dinner.
  4. Jeg ___ hver morgen (dusje). Options: dusje, dusjer, dusjet.

How the lesson works

Start with the flashcards: each card shows one item with a picture cue and a short tip. Then you listen and tap the right picture, match words to meanings, say each one out loud, build the sentence from word tiles, and listen and type what you hear. Finish with the quiz: a wrong answer costs a heart, and at the end you can practise your mistakes or restart the lesson. Completing the lesson earns XP and keeps your daily streak alive.

Why it matters

Describing your day is a standard task in Norwegian classes and in the oral part of language tests, and it is what colleagues ask about on Monday. With these eight sentences and the -r rule you can talk about your own routine and change the times to fit it.
