Norwegian nature words for hiking and the outdoors
This lesson gives you the words for a day outside in Norway: the idea of friluftsliv, your right to roam, inviting someone on a hike, mountain and forest, following a marked trail, reaching the summit and camping. For fjords, the hytte and other culture words, see Cultural Insights and Travel & Nature.

How the lesson works
Start with the flashcards: each card shows one item with a picture cue and a short tip. Then you listen and tap the right picture, match words to meanings, say each one out loud, build the sentence from word tiles, and listen and type what you hear. Finish with the quiz: a wrong answer costs a heart, and at the end you can practise your mistakes or restart the lesson. Completing the lesson earns XP and keeps your daily streak alive.
Why it matters
An invitation to gå på tur is one of the most common ways Norwegians make friends and spend weekends. Knowing the words, and the basic rules of allemannsretten, lets you say yes with confidence.
