Habit Builder Minute Rule vocabulary
- The 2-Minute Rule — Start in under 2 minutes — Not "Read 30 minutes" but "Read 1 page". Not "Do yoga" but "Roll out the mat". Not "Run 5 km" but "Put on your running shoes".
- Why It Works — Master the art of showing up — You’re not building the full habit yet. A habit must be established before it can be improved. Show up consistently and you’ll naturally do more.
- Habit Stacking — Attach it to an existing habit — "After [CURRENT HABIT], I will [NEW 2-MIN HABIT]." After I pour my morning coffee, I will read one page.
- Never Miss Twice — Missing once is an accident — Missing twice is starting a new (bad) habit. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s consistency: "I don’t skip two days in a row."
- Shrink the goal — Turn 20 minutes of meditation into 3 breaths — "After I wake up, I will sit still and take 3 deep breaths." That’s it. The rest comes naturally.
