• Det er et godt poeng — That is a good point: a polite way to acknowledge the other side.
• Hva synes du? — What do you think? Ask for the other person's opinion.
• Jeg foretrekker… — I prefer: Jeg foretrekker te framfor kaffe. (I prefer tea to coffee.)

Practice questions

1. Which phrase gives your personal opinion of a film? Options: Jeg er enig, Jeg synes at, Hva synes du?.
2. How do you say “I disagree”? Options: Jeg er enig, Etter min mening, Jeg er uenig.
3. How do you ask for someone's opinion? Options: Hva synes du?, Hvor bor du?, Hva heter du?.
4. “Jeg foretrekker te” means… Options: I drink tea, I dislike tea, I prefer tea.

How the lesson works
