Norwegian verbs conjugation: what this Norwegian lesson covers
This free interactive lesson on norwegian verbs conjugation is part of the Mondosol Learn to speak Norwegian course. In about ten minutes you will meet 8 essential verb forms in the present tense, see how they are used, and test yourself with a short quiz. Everything on this page runs in your browser, so you can practise norwegian verbs conjugation on your phone, tablet or laptop without installing anything.
What you will learn
- jeg snakker — I speak — most verbs add -r to the infinitive: å snakke → snakker.
- vi snakker — we speak — the verb is the same for every person: jeg, du, han, vi, de snakker.
- hun er — she is — å være is irregular: jeg er, du er, hun er, vi er.
- vi har — we have — å ha → har, for every person.
- de gjør — they do — å gjøre → gjør, with no extra -r.
- jeg vet — I know — å vite → vet, one of the few irregular present forms.
- Kan du komme? — Can you come? — after kan, vil, må and skal the verb stays in the infinitive, without å.
- Jeg spiser ikke — I do not eat — ikke comes right after the verb in a main clause.
