- Kari bor i Bergen. — Kari lives in Bergen. Bor comes from å bo, to live.
- Hun jobber på et sykehus. — She works at a hospital. Norwegian uses på for many workplaces.
- Hun står opp klokka seks. — She gets up at six o'clock. Står opp means gets up.
- Hun tar bussen til jobben. — She takes the bus to work.
- Det regner ofte i Bergen. — It often rains in Bergen, one of the rainiest cities in Europe.
- Derfor har hun alltid paraply. — That is why she always has an umbrella. After derfor the verb comes second: har hun.
- Om kvelden leser hun en bok. — In the evening she reads a book.
- Hun liker livet sitt. — She likes her life. Sitt points back to hun, the subject.
