Always try to go beyond the basics/obvious.

The most successful articles tend to be:

  • Lists (e.g., examples, tips, tools, tactics)
  • How-to articles/guides
  • Explainer posts (e.g., what isโ€ฆ / why x matters)
  • Expert roundups
  • Opinion posts/commentary/think-pieces

All things considered, provide actionable tips and practical advice.

Also share your own experiences. Donโ€™t rely heavily on quoting influencers, experts, or authorities from other sites.

Be the expert and make our readers go โ€œwow.โ€ Posts they canโ€™t wait to share with their friends. Posts people wonโ€™t forget two seconds later.

Tip:ย Copy and paste your post into Grammarly, or Microsoft Word and run a spell check. In fact, we prefer these editing tools for catching sneaky misspellings, and extra spaces. Feeling extra word-nerdy? Useย Hemingway Editorย to check.

  2. Additionally you should be accurate and specific. …

  4. Also use infinitive form of verb for future actions. …
  5. After all do not use articles – a, an, the.

How many Paragraphs should I choose?

Short little blurbs are the best! They’re super easy to get, drive your point home, and are perfect for all of us with short attention spans in this age of information overload. In the end:

  • Try to be concise.
  • Always try to keep your paragraphs short.
  • So one sentence is fine.
  • Also two sentences is typically OK. But no more than three sentences.
How to optimise with Yoast SEO?

We love Yoast SEO, because it will highlight potential SEO and readability problems and areas for improvement.

Therefore this is what you need to worry about for your post:

  • SEO Title: Make sure this matches your headline.
  • Slug: This is the same as your URL/Permalink.
  • Meta Description: Optimize for search and give readers a reason to click in 1-2 concise sentences.
  • Focus keyword: What search query do you want to rank for?
Do I need WordPress Categories?

Accordingly to best practices pick, at minimum, one WordPress category for your article. Additionally you may pick up to two relevant categories (e.g., if your post covers both SEO and Content Marketing).

Should I use Excerpt?

As a matter of fact, please add an excerpt (maximum: 20 words) for every post. It can be similar to your meta description.

In fact, this is the description that appears on the Mondosol website when it publishes. If your excerpt exceed 20 words, it will end with a โ€ฆ

Also the Excerpt is located below the Yoast SEO box. (If you donโ€™t see it click on screen options in top right and click Excerpt.)

Can I use A/B Testing for Titles?

We A/B test headlines โ€“ your main headline and two alternates. Alternate headlines must be less than 50 characters.

What Featured Image can I use?

The Guest Post Guidelines requires a featured image (found on the right sidebar in wordpress) that isย 1600 pixels wide and 840 pixels tall.ย Please preview your post before submitting it to make sure your featured image is formatted correctly.

What In-Post Images can I use?
  • All in-post photos must be center-aligned, unless they are aligned with text.
  • You can use images from Shutterstock (if you have an account) and sites that release all licenses (e.g. Death to Stock Photo, Unsplash, and Pixabay) only.
  • Additionally youย can use images that youย created or photographs you took. Your own screenshots are great!
  • No promotional images, therefore Images cannot have a company logo or brand.
  • Additionally no external links on images.
  • No memes. While we love memes, and there isย debate on whether memes fall under โ€˜fair usageโ€˜, we do not want to pay Getty copyright violation penalties. No memes please.
  • Therefore Mondosol editorial team reserves the right to replace or remove images they deem irrelevant to the post or has negative connotation without prior notice.
  • Also images must have proper attribution at the bottom of your post like in this example:

  • Links: Evaluate the relevance of each link to the content. Avoid excessive repetition or self-promotion. Edit as necessary.
  • Full disclosure. If you reference your company in the article, your connection as the author needs to be made clear. So instead of โ€œABC SEO published a case studyโ€ฆโ€ it should read โ€œMy company, ABC SEO, published a case studyโ€ฆโ€.
