FAQ

Questions about the German course?

Quick, honest answers before you start.

Is the Mondosol German course free?

Yes. You can start the German course for free with no credit card. The free plan lets you start any course and keeps your progress, XP and streaks. Mondosol Plus (from €10 a month, €79 a year or €149 for lifetime access) adds the full library of 15 courses, live coaching sessions and language-travel programs. You can cancel anytime and every paid plan is backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee.

What level does the German course start at, and how far does it go?

It starts at A1, absolute beginner, and currently runs to B1 intermediate. The course follows the CEFR levels — A1, A2 and B1 — with each level as its own module, and module checks along the way so you know when you are ready to move up.

What will I learn in the first German lessons?

Real German you can use straight away: greetings and introductions, numbers and counting, family and people, food and drink, colours and descriptions, then days, months and time. You say something real in your very first lesson — no long grammar drills before you get to speak.

How long does a German lesson take?

About two to three minutes. Every lesson is bite-size on purpose, with a short quiz at the end, so a coffee break or a commute is enough time to finish one. Learn by doing: you read, listen to real German audio and answer as you go.

Is German hard to learn for English speakers?

German shares a lot of vocabulary with English — both are Germanic languages — so many words will feel familiar from the start. The cases and gendered nouns take practice, but every Mondosol lesson introduces grammar in context rather than as abstract rules, so you pick it up naturally.

Do I need an account to start learning German?

No — you can try lessons without logging in. Creating a free account saves your progress across devices and switches on XP, streaks and the community, so most learners sign up after their first lesson or two.

Can I learn German on my phone?

Yes. Mondosol runs in your browser on any phone, tablet or laptop, with nothing to install. Lessons are short and mobile-friendly, so you can fit German into the gaps of a busy day.

Do I get a certificate when I finish the German course?

Yes. You earn a certificate every time you complete a Mondosol course, ready to share or simply feel proud of.

How is this different from other German apps?

Every lesson is tied to real places and culture — from the Christmas markets of Munich to café life in Vienna — so you learn the phrase and the world behind it, not just vocabulary. Mondosol also pairs German with real-world skills like hospitality, remote work and cooking, all in the same bite-size, gamified style, and it was built by Elio, who learned his languages while living and working abroad.
