Corrections policy

What we do when Mondosol gets something wrong

Mistakes happen in any newsroom and in any classroom. What matters is that they are fixed openly, quickly and on the record. This page explains how to report an error and what we do with it.

How to report an error

Send the page address and a short description of what is wrong to press@mondosol.com. If you can point to a source that shows the correct information, it will be handled faster.

  • Anyone can request a correction. You do not need an account.
  • Every request is read by a person, not filtered by a bot.
  • We aim to reply within three working days and to fix clear factual errors within five.

The three levels of change

Not every edit is a correction, so we separate them honestly.

  • Correction. A fact was wrong. We fix it and add a dated note at the foot of the article saying what changed.
  • Clarification. The fact was right but the wording misled. We rewrite it and note the change.
  • Update. The situation itself moved on. We add the new information with its own date and leave the original reporting visible.

What we will not do

A correction policy is only worth something if it also says what is off the table.

  • We do not silently delete or rewrite an article to make an error disappear.
  • We do not remove accurate reporting because a company or an advertiser asks us to.
  • We do not backdate or reset a publication date to make old content look new.

Serious errors are flagged at the top

If a mistake changed the meaning of a piece, or could have led someone to make a bad decision about money, travel or their studies, the correction goes at the top of the article, not buried at the bottom. If the piece was shared in our newsletter or on social media, we correct it there too.
